Koh Tao
Reef diving with a well-rounded site — ideal for newcomers.. Koh Tao is a reef site in the Gulf of Thailand off Thailand, offering coral reefs across its waters. Dives run to 25 m with around 15 m visibility, gentle currents and sea temperatures of 28–30°C. Marine highlights include turtles, schooling fish and coral gardens. Diving is possible year-round, typically reached by shore and boat. Best for newer divers. Open Water certification is sufficient for most sites here.
Similan Islands
Reef diving with visibility up to 25 m, 4 standout species, liveaboard access — a great fit for most divers.. Similan Islands is a reef site in the Andaman Sea off Thailand, offering coral reefs and pinnacles across its waters. Dives run to 40 m with around 25 m visibility, moderate currents and sea temperatures of 26–30°C. Marine highlights include manta rays, whale sharks, turtles and granite boulders. Best season is Nov–Apr, typically reached by liveaboard. A good choice for divers with some experience. An Advanced Open Water certification is recommended. With dives to 40 m, comfort at depth is recommended.
Richelieu Rock
Diving with liveaboard access, challenging currents — a strong choice for experienced divers.. Richelieu Rock, a pinnacle in the Andaman Sea off Thailand, rises from deeper water. Dives run to 35 m with around 20 m visibility, strong currents and sea temperatures of 27–30°C. Marine highlights include whale sharks, mantas and huge schools. Best season is Nov–Apr, typically reached by liveaboard. Built for experienced divers. An Advanced Open Water certification is recommended. Strong currents call for confident buoyancy.
